Mikel targets premier league return with Stoke City

John Mikel Obi says he’s satisfied with his club, Stoke City’s current form, but insists they had to improve in order to achieve their aim of returning to the premier league.

Mikel joined the Potters this summer and has featured in their five Skybet Championship matches so far this season.

The former Nigeria’s Super Eagles Captain has also helped the team defensively while playing at his favorite holding role position.

Stoke City is scheduled to take on Brentford at the Bet365 Stadium and Mikel the team must not take their eyes off the ball if they want to return to the premier league.

“I just keep going, get ticking over and get the team to play and help the team defensively as well,” he continued.

“We’re trying to find a way to play out. You could see in the game (against Barnsley) that we did that a few times, we did come out really well. If we keep playing like this I think we’ll be there.

“I’m enjoying myself to be back playing the game and the aim is to help get this club where it should be, which is in the Premier League,” he said.
