Nasarawa United stun Heartland at home

Two goals in each half from Chinedu Ohanachum and Adamu Hassan gave Nasarawa United a vital win over Heartland FC at the Okigwe Township stadium on Sunday.

Nasarawa United started the match on a front foot and got their reward in the 14th minute when Chinedu Ohanachum scored the opener.

A defensive error from Heartland allowed Franklin Tebo to pick out Ohanachum with a perfect pass and striker made no mistake.

Heartland coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu reacted and introduced Shedrack Oghali in the 62nd minute of match.

Oghali made an immediate impact as he leveled the score within minutes of coming off the bench for the home team, with a close range effort.

The visitors however responded and restored their lead in the 75th minute.

Silas Nwankwo glided past his marker before slipping a pass to Adamu Hassan who finished expertly.

Nasarawa nearly scored the third in added time, but Adamu Hassan’s effort was kept out by the Heartland goalkeeper.

Nasarawa United are now sitting on top of the log with six points, while Heartland FC occupy the bottom spot suffering back to back defeats.
