Nathan Tella, born in England to Nigerian parent expressed a significant boost in confidence following his debut for the West African nation in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against the Warriors of Zimbabwe.
The 24-year-old, started the game against Zimbabwe and was later replaced by Victor Boniface at half-time.
The 24-year-old emphasized the positive impact of representing Nigeria on his overall performance, highlighting the honor of playing for the national team.
“The last few weeks have given me a lot of confidence. As a player, you always want to play and to play in the big games,” he told reporters.
”My international debut also did me good. Now I’m really looking forward to more matches.”
Looking ahead, Tella is focus on making the final squad to 2023 African Cup of Nations in Cote D’Ivoire and helping the team qualify for the FIFA World Cup.
