NFF celebrates Former Super Eagles Captain Austin Okocha at 47

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has celebrated with former Super Eagles Captain Austin Okocha who turns 47 on Friday, August 14th, 2020.

 

The country’s football governing body took to their social media handle to celebrate with the mercurial midfielder on the special occasion.

 

“Happy birthday to the magical @IAmOkocha. Too good he was named twice. Have a good one legend!” The NFF said in a tweet.

 

Okocha made his official debut for Nigeria in their 2–1 1994 FIFA World Cup Qualifier away loss against Ivory Coast in May 1993.

 

He was part of the Super Eagles squad that won the 1994 African Cup of Nations in Tunisia and the 1996 Olympic goal medal-winning U-23 team.

 

He also won silver media three bronze medals, Most Valuable Player and top scorer award at the African biggest football tournament.

 

Okocha who made 74 appearances for Nigeria and scored 14 goals also featured at three different FIFA World Cups.
