NFF yet to decision on the next Super Eagles Coach

Member of Nigeria Football Federation Technical Committee Victor Ikpeba confirmed that Executive Committee would decide on the next Super Eagles Coach in the next few days.

 

Ikpeba confirmed in an interview with Channels TV, that former Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde, Lauren Blanc, Jose Peseiro, and Philip Cocu are the final four candidates shortlisted for the vacant position.

 

“We have about six, seven foreign managers that applied, the names are all out but some of them were not mentioned,” the Atlanta Olympic gold medalist told Channels TV.

 

“We looked at the profiles and we decided three, four of the foreign managers we take it to the Executive Committee of the NFF Board to decide.

 

“Ernesto Valverde, Laurent Blanc, Phillip Cocu, and José Peseiro applied for the Super Eagles job, and based on their profile they were shortlisted,” he said.

 

The NFF are yet to appoint a permanent successor for Gernot Rohr who was sacked in November 2021.

 

Austin Eguavoen was drafted in as an interim manager but stepped down from the position after failing to impress at the African Cup of Nations FIFA World Cup qualification playoff.
