Niger Tornadoes: First relegation candidate for the season

Niger Tornadoes Football Club of Minna has struggled to live up to expectations in the on going 2018/2019 Nigeria Professional Football League season, with just a win from ten matches so far.

The fans of the team were very hopeful going into the new season after impressive performance at the Al Ilan pre season tournament in Kano, but the Club failed to carry the form into the season proper as they failed to killed team off at the Kontangora Stadium which used to be their fortress.

Bad results led to the resignation of Coach Solomon Ogbe after the 3-1 away defeat to Katsina United, including six games without a win.

Unlike other clubs where change of manager will bring change in the fortune of the team, The Ikon Allah boys has won just a game(1-0 win over Sunshine Stars) out of four with the new gafferHamza Abarah who many has doubt his ability and experience as the right man to lead the lead the 2017 Aiteo Cup finalist.

Hamza Abarah has failed to solve the problem the team encounteredunder Solomon Ogbeide which is defending, they let in three goals away to Katsina United, three against MFM despite going two goals up and the two they conceded in their last away trip to Kwara United to mention few.

The new technical crew has also failed to fix how to win home matches , it not a mistake to say the Club has forgotten how to winat home, Tornadoes has the highest home draw in the league this season with four out of matches and to either win the title or avoid relegation winning home matches are vital in Nigeria Professional Football League.

Again the Hamza Abarah led technical crew has to do from now till the end of the season is find a lasting solutions to how home matches will won and also solve the defensive lapses to reduce the number of goals they leak in away matches.

If they eventually survive the drop this season, the management must bring in players with experience in the league under their belt to reestablish the Club in the league once again, but the next game against Lobi Stars at the Kontangora Stadium in Minna will be crucial to the future of the Club in the top flight league.

They sit at the base of Group A with a paltry seven points from ten matches heading into game.
