Cyriel Dessers has responded to rumors linking him with trying to force a move away from Genk and his trip to Denmark.
Dessers made headlines when his picture with Copenhagen boss Jess Thorup having dinner in Copenhagen circulated the internet.
It was rumored that the 27-year-old was trying to force a move out of Genk this summer.
The timing of his visit to Denmark however angered his club, with the Director Dimitri De Conde coming out to criticize the Player’s professionalism.
Dessers shrug off the controversy and took part in KRC Genk game against Standard Liege on Sunday.
He showed why many clubs are after his signature by netting twice to guide his Club to a 3-1 win.
After the game against Standard Liege, he was asked to comment on his recent visit to Copenhagen.
“If I’m in Barcelona in the summer, no one will link me to Barca. I don’t know why that is,” Dessers told Eleven Sports.
Dessers has been involved in four goals in two games for Genk this season.
