The Annual General Meeting of the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) holds today in Lagos.
Speaking in an exclusive chat with brila FM, The President of NOC, Habu Gumel stated that the event will be a fruitful one as every head of every sports federation will be present.
Engr. Habu Gumel also confirmed that the meeting will take place at the Conference Hall of Airport Hotel, Ikeja, with all invited guests, including presidents of sports federations and members of the NOC Executive Committee expected to attend.
Engr Gumel, who is an Executive Member of the International Olympic Committee, said the AGM will be a fruitful ground for all federation presidents to review their scorecards for the outgoing year and map out strategies on how Nigeria will excel at the forthcoming Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia.
The NOC President, also cleared the air regarding the current state of Basketball in the country saying the NOC has played its part.
“FIBA is in charge of the situation, and there’ is no plan by FIBA to ban Nigeria on any grounds,” Gumel told Brila.
FIBA has recently extended the deadline given the NBBF to thrash its Leadership tussle.
