NPFL: Enyimba Came From Behind to Draw With FC Ifeanyi Ubah

Enyimba FC of Aba came from 2 goals down to draw 2-2 with FC Ifeanyi Ubah in a rescheduled NPFL at the Enyimba stadium on Wednesday.


The Fatai Osho’s tutored side went into the game with the aim of bouncing back from Sunday’s defeat to Rivers United and also close the gap with the current leaders.


The People’s Elephants on the front and threatened to score the opener inside the opening 20 minutes.


Anayo Iwuala was played through by captain Austin Oladapo but his effort hit the side net.


Two Minutes Sadiq Abubakar came close for Enyimba but goalkeeper, Sharp Uzoigwe palmed away his shot from an acute angle.


After doing all the play, Enyimba was stunned in the 28th minute as FC Ifeanyi Ubah took a shock lead when Saidu Adamu scored from a corner kick.


The visitors later got the second goal in the 61st minute, thanks to Saidu Mohammed who slotted into an empty net after a well-orchestrated team play.


Enyimba continued to attack and they finally got their goal in the 78th minute, through Reuben Bala who was scoring his first league in over twelve months.


The eight-time champions finally snatched a point at the death, when Imoh Obot got the equalizer in the third minute of added time.


The points take Enyimba 5th on the NPFL table and they will take on Rangers of Enugu in the next game.
