President of HFN Sam Ocheho has hailed the qualification of Nigeria’s Male and Female Handball national teams after both sides picked the ticket to 2019 All Africa Games at the just concluded Zone 3 qualifiers in Burkina Faso last night.
Ocheho speaking in a chat with www.brila.net expressed delight at the outcome of the team’s campaign in Burkina Faso considering that a lot of gambles was taken to field a youthful side as part of the Federation’s resolve to give room for younger players in the senior national team.
“Congratulations to team Nigeria, congratulations to both the Male and Female Handball national teams for the qualification, they’ve made all of us proud.
All Handball stakeholders in Nigeria are very excited for this qualification, the country took a gamble with them because we presented a very youthful side, this is paying off and we are looking forward to them doing a greater thing in Beijing, the next phase is to look at the All Africa Games proper.”
The coach Rafiu Yusuf tutored sides will now hope for medal positions at the All Africa Games later this year.
