Omeruo back in contention for Super Eagles AFCON Qualifiers against Leone Stars

Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo is back in training again after recovering from the knock he suffered last weekend.

Omeruo was on parade for Leganes against Mirandes last weekend but had to replace after suffering an injury around his thigh.

It was rumored that the defender could withdraw from the Super Eagles squad for the coming 2022 African Cup of Nations qualifying against Sierra Leone, but it appeared not too serious as initially feared.

Omeruo trained with his teammates on Tuesday evening ahead of Friday’s Segunda B match against Albacete.

His return to fitness is a big boost for Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr, who has already lost Simon Moses to an injury.

The Franco-German tactician will also be without Wilfred Ndidi for the game, as the Leicester City player continues his recovery.
