Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo was substituted after seventh minutes into Leganes match against Sevilla on Tuesday.
The former Chelsea defender picked up an injury and was unable to continue the game, and was replaced by his Super Eagles teammates Chidozie Awaziem.
However the extent of the injury is still unknown, but the club will exam on the player on Wednesday to determine how long he will be sidelined.
Omeruo has featured in three of Leganes’ four games since the Spanish league returned from the Covid-19 break last month and he has featured in 22 games in total this season.
The injury is a big blow for head coach Javier Agguire as Omeruo could now be forced to sit out of Leganes’ next match against fellow relegation battlers Espanyol.
