Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo is confident the team will pick three points against South Africa’s Bafana Bafana in the second-leg of their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match.
Although he predicts a tough match between the two, Omeruo told Brila.net that the Eagles are on the momentum, buoyed by the victory against Libya.
Nigeria needs a win to secure their place at next year’s tournament but Omeruo expects the South African’s to prove difficult; as past meetings between the two often is.
‘I know we can win over,’ the CD Leganes center back told Brila.net
‘I am confident and will boldly declare victory for Nigeria. They defeated us at home but we’ve since shown we can win anywhere too.
‘This game will be tough no doubt, as the matches between the two countries have always proven to be, but I have no doubt victory is certain for the Eagles.’ said Omeruo.
Meanwhile, the Super Eagles are coming off of back to back wins against Libya and have the momentum heading into the November 17 clash.
South Africa hosts Nigeria in the penultimate Group E match at the FNB Stadium, Johannesburg with the Eagles topping the standings by a point ahead of the second placed Bafana.
