Japanese Tsuyoshi Watanabe who plays for KV Kortrijk is critical of Paul Onuachu’s style of the play.
The defender has been impressive for Kortrijk since arriving the club from his native country Japan.
The 25-year-old has played every minute of the 22 matches for KV Kortrijk this season, including the 1-0 over Genk.
“The Belgian league? No, that was unknown to me. Now I can compare them with the Japanese competition. It has smarter and more technical players than the Belgian ones,” He told Het Nieuwsblad.
According to Watanabe, he won many duels because the forwards are predictable and he used his performance against league top scorer Paul Onuachu as an example.
“Take the match against Genk now. I then faced Onuachu . A good player, but not a smart striker. He only uses his body and I managed to win many headers from him.”
Watanabe has contract with Kortrijk until 2025, but hopes make a transfer, to the Bundesliga, to continue his career.
