Onyeka’s Brentford edging closer to drop zone after another defeat against Man City

Frank Onyeka was on parade for Brentford in their 2-0 defeat to Manchester City at the Etihad on Wednesday night.

Onyeka played from the start, and it was his 18th Premier League appearance of the season for the struggling Bees.

The midfielder who has just a league goal for the Club lasted for 70 minutes on the pitch, before being replaced  with 20 minutes left in the game.

Thomas Frank’s side defended excellently for large periods but shot themselves in the foot for both of City’s goals.

Riyad Mahrez broke the deadlock from the penalty spot on 40 minutes before Kevin de Bruyne sealed the points for City on 69 minutes.

Onyeka and his Brentford teammates have now lost their last five league defeat game.

Their recent slump takes them closer towards the dreaded drop zone. They are now just six points ahead of the relegation zone.
