Paul Onuachu scores Puskas Award Contender

Paul Onuachu was the hero as his brace guide Trabzonspor to a hard-fought 2-1 success over Konyaspor in the Turkish Super Lig on Friday.

Onuachu, reminds the world of his qualities once again with a perfectly executed two goals that’ll be remembered for a long time.

 

The 29-year-old scored his first in the 59th minute when he placed a low belter into the bottom corner with goalkeeper Paul Bernardoni rooted to a spot.

 

The goal however was cancelled out by Louka Prip who equalized for Konyaspor.

 

With five minutes left Onuachu met a sublime cross to net the winner in a spectacular fashion.

 

With his back at goal, the lanky forward connected with ball, netting a sensational acrobatic winner for Trabzonspor.

 

Onuachu wheeled away in celebration and delivered a brilliant back flip celebration after the wonder goal.

 

The goal is similar to Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s acrobatic back heel finish for Sweden against Italy at Euro 2004.

 

Onuachu has rediscovered his goalscoring prowess since joining Trabzonspor on loan in September after failing to register a goal or assist for Southampton. ​

 

The six-foot-seven inch striker who was signed from Belgian side Genk for £18m Southampton has scored six goals with one assist in eight matches for Trabzonspor.
