Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro found himself bewildered amidst the ongoing controversy surrounding Umar Sadiq’s sudden recovery from a knee injury.

Exempted from the Super Eagles’ Africa Cup of Nations squad following the injury, Sadiq was expected to be sidelined for three-week. Paul Onuachu was called up as his immediate replacement.

However, the player has defied expectations by swiftly returning to full fitness, sparking criticism and scrutiny directed at the Nigeria Football Federation.

The saga has raised questions about the handling of player injuries and further intensified the spotlight on the football federation’s decision-making.

Expressing his confusion over the situation, Peseiro revealed that he, too, is in the dark about the circumstances surrounding the Forward’s recovery.

“I am confused as well, our team doctor said he would be out for 15 days. We held a meeting with him, and it was the last day to replace a player,” He told the media.
