Former Super Eagles defender Sam Sodje has admitted that the English Premier League is the most-watched league in Nigeria and will serve as a source of distraction post covid19.
Sodje made this know in an exclusive chat with www.brila.net that the Premier League is a major distraction for Nigerians even while in troubles.
“It is well watched in Nigeria, a lot of people watch the Premier League and then, it’s going to be a good distraction from what is going on at the moment and a lot of people will be happy to go to watch games,
“Although I really want us to concentrate on what is going on in Nigeria because, the Premier League is the English league and hopefully it starts on the 17th of June and we are back watching football again, but we should focus on the Nigerian league even as we are looking forward to the premier league return.
Sodje made his debut for Nigeria in a 3–0 friendly defeat to Romania in Bucharest, playing the full 90 minutes. After some impressive performances for Leeds United Sodje was recalled to the Nigerian squad for friendlies against the Republic of Ireland and France at the end of the 08/09 season.
