Prolific Strikers atop Gernot Rohr’s ‘Wanted List’

Goal scoring is a concern for Super Eagles technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr, and the German has now made scouting a prolific goal poacher a top priority as he prepares the team for the qualifying matches of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

According to former Super Eagles forward, Victor Agali, efforts are under way to scout more strikers, who could get invitation future invitations to the national team.

Last week, Rohr named 24 players for the 2019 AFCON qualifier against Seychelles, revealing he’d stick with the duo of Odion Ighalo and Simy Nwankwo; albeit neither scored in Russia at the World Cup.

Rohr’s perception of Ighalo and the build of Simy earned the two places in the squad for teh September 7 encounter, based on the Coach’s explanation to the Press inside a packed NFF conference room in Lagos.

However, limited time between international windows will force the Super Eagles selectors to hand try outs to potential number 9s gradually but in over a long period, Agali explained.
