Rangers’ center back, Connor Goldson has voiced his support for Cyriel Dessers ahead of the highly anticipated derby against Celtic this Sunday.

Despite facing scrutiny and criticism earlier in the season, Dessers’ recent impressive performances have caught the attention of his teammates, with Goldson expressing confidence in the striker’s ability to make an impact in the upcoming match.

After a difficult start at Ibrox, Dessers has experienced a resurgence in form, scoring regularly for the Gers.

The Nigerian has scored 17 goals for the Gers across all competitions, and his teammate believes that a standout performance in the Old Firm derby could be the defining moment to silence his doubters once and for all.

“Of course, but at the same time he just needs to keep doing it every single game,” Godson said.

“Like I have said before, at the end of the season he will be judged on his numbers. It won’t just be this game.

“He will be judged on how he has helped the team throughout the season and how many goals he has scored.

“Recently he has been doing that really well so hopefully that can continue,” He said.
