Club Brugge’s hopes in the UEFA Europa Conference League semi final second-leg encounter against Fiorentina have been dealt a blow as midfielder Raphael Onyedika faces suspension.

Onyedika, will be sidelined due to a red card received during the first leg, which saw Club Brugge fall 3-2 to Fiorentina.

The 23-year-old midfielder’s expulsion came after receiving two bookings in quick succession, with the first caution issued on the 58th minute followed by a subsequent red card just three minutes later.

As per regulations, Onyedika will serve a mandatory one-match suspension.

His absence poses a significant challenge for Club Brugge, who now must overturn a two-goal deficit from the previous encounter.

Onyedika’s contributions to the team have been noteworthy, evident from his recent accolade as Club Brugge’s Player of the Month for April.

With the midfielder unavailable for selection, Club Brugge will need to regroup and devise a strategy to secure a favorable outcome in his absence as they seek to advance in the tournament.
