Report: NFF Pursues Herve Renard for Super Eagles Job

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is actively seeking to appoint Herve Renard as the new coach of the Super Eagles.

Following the conclusion of Jose Peseiro’s contract after the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, the coaching position for the Super Eagles has remained vacant.

Renard, who previously guided Saudi Arabia to the 2022 Qatar World Cup and is currently managing the France Women’s team, has expressed his intention to step down after the Paris Olympics games to focus on coaching a men’s team.

In discussing his aspirations, Renard said, “It’s a difficult job. If I had to be brief, I have in the back of my mind the 2026 World Cup in men’s football.

” I hope that it will be my third World Cup at the head of a men’s team. These are my personal motivations.”

Finidi George, who recently served as interim coach in Nigeria’s friendly matches against Ghana and Mali, is also in contention for the position vacated by Peseiro.

Nigeria are among several teams competing to secure the services of the French manager.
