The Super Falcons got their campaign at the Revelation Cup off to a 1-0 defeat to Mexico.
Randy Waldrum couldn’t guide his team past Mexico, the hosts beat the Super Falcons on Wednesday night in the city of Leon.
The game was closely contested and was heading for a draw, until the hosts dug deep and found the winner minutes from time.
Kiana Palacios found space behind the Falcons’ defense and she buried the chance to earn her side victory.
Waldrum’s side have now lost its last six matches, with last victory coming in the quarter-final of African Women’s Championship against Cameroon last July.
The Falcons will face Colombia in their second game on Saturday, 18th February.
