Rohr’s future undecided after meeting between NFF and Sports Ministry

President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick met with the Minister of Sports Sunday Dare over the future of Super Eagles boss Gernot Rohr.

Pinnick and some of his Executives had a closed-door meeting with the Minister of Sports at his office in Abuja on Thursday and discussions were centered around the underfire Franco-German and his successor.

Rohr is expected to be sacked from his role, but brila.net gathered that his severance package is the only thing delaying the announcement.

After the meeting, Pinnick met with the media and he revealed that the Ministry and the Federation are now moving in the same direction and they will arrive at a better solution.

“We have discussed with the Minister, we have a lot a new direction, I have to discuss with my Executive Members. I will also come back to give feedback to the Minister.

“We are working in close harmony with the Sports Ministry. We don’t want to hurt Nigerians, we are looking at our decision from an objective perspective. Trust me, whatever we are doing, it will be in the interest of the country.

“We have looked at all the documentation, I can assure Nigerians we will have a clear direction soon.” He said.

Rohr was employed in 2016, but he became untenable following recent disappointing performances from the team.
