Russian MMA Champ Khabib denied $2million Fight Purse after victory over McGregor

Russian MMA fighter and undefeated UFC Lightweight Champion UFC Khabib Nurmagomedov (27-0) has had his $2million fight purse withheld by the Nevada Athletic Commission as it investigates the resulting melee after the UFC 229 fight against Conor McGregor.

President of UFC Dana White revealed in the post-fight presser that the Khabib was under investigation for jumping over the octagon to start the ring side brawl with an individual in McGregor’s team.

“The Nevada State Athletic Commission pulled the footage from us; there’s an investigation going on.

“They are withholding Habib’s purse, they are not withholding Conor McGregor’s; they looked at the footage and felt that there’s no need to withhold his purse; so they gave him his and are keeping Habib’s,” said Dana.

Meanwhile, McGregor took home a $3million purse and has asked for a rematch.

He tweeted:

Good knock. Looking forward to the rematch.
