Super Eagles forward Sadiq Umar has been voted as the player of the of February in Spanish second division .
The award is a reward for Sadiq Umar’s fantastic performance for Almeria in the month of February.
The 25-year-old former Partizan Belgrade forward contributed seven goals (scored five goals and two assisted) in four league games last months .
The 2021 Africa Cup of Nations strike helped the Rojiblancos to four straight wins in the second division, which put them into strong position for promotion .
The former AS Roma and Glasgow Rangers man clinched the award at the expense of Huesca’s Jaime Seoane and Eibar’s Jose Corpar .
The lanky forward has scored 13 goals, 7 assists and 5 yellow card in 25 league appearances so far this season.
He found the back of the net 20 times last season, despite not starting the campaign with Almeria .
Sadiq Umar would be hoping to replicate his Almeria form for the Super Eagles, when they face Ghana in doubleheader World Cup qualifiers .
The three time African Champions are scheduled to visit the Black Stars on March 25, before returning to Abuja for the second leg four days later.
