The Nigerian rowing team say their priority at the maiden edition of the African Beach Games is to lay down a marker to inspire the next generation of Rowers in the Country.
Team Nigeria’s duo, Moses Michael and Esther Tokoh will compete in singles and mixed doubles events which get under way Today in Sal, Cape Verde.
Captain, Moses told brila.net they are focused on winning and establishing a record in the competition.
‘This being the first of its kind in Africa and we being the first to go out there to compete, our priority is to make our country proud by bringing back medals and creating records, so that people can follow.
‘We want to lay a good foundation so that when it comes next time even when we’re not there, the ones who will, can try to do better than we did.’
