Shehu Abdullahi clinches Cypriot Super Cup title with Omonia

Shehu Abdullahi is on cloud nine after winning his second trophy with Omonia Nicosia on Tuesday.

Shehu played from start to finish as Omonia defeated his former club Anorthosis to win the Cypriot Super Cup on Tuesday.

Omonia won the tie 3-2 on penalties after the game ended in a 1-1 draw in regulation time.

Serbian international footballer Marko Šćepović put Omonia ahead on the 11th minute before Andreas Chrysostomou equalized for Anorthosis in the 42nd minute.

Omonia, however, held their nerves to win the game 3-2 on penalties.

In his reaction to the game, Shehu said he’s delighted to be part of the group and happy to have the fans back at the GPS Stadium.

“I am honoured to be part of this amazing achievement, it was our first Super Cup title in 9 years.

“The team performance was exciting and the title is for our beloved fans. Excited to see them cheer us. It will be a great season for the family.” He said.

Shehu Abdullahi who joined the team at the beginning of last season has now won two titles with the club.

He won the 2020-2021 league title with them last season, before adding the Super cup.
