Nasarawa United coach Bala Nikyu is confident the club will remain on track, despite the transfer of prolific goalscorer Silas Nwankwo.
The striker who carried Nasarawa United’s goal burden on his shoulders for the past two finalized a move to Swedish Allsvenskan Side Mjallby on Thursday.
However, fans feared that the departure of the 18-year-old means Bala Nikyu could derail Nasarawa United season, but Bala Nikyu insisted he has more than enough capable replacement.
“Well, the movement of our top scorer, Silas Nwankwo, will not in any way destabilise the team. If I have my way, I wish ten more players will move out – like it or leave it, we have younger players who are also good and improving fastly.
“So, if Silas moved to another club, it’s an opportunity for him, and I pray more of our players would have the opportunity to better their career too.” He said.
