Simon’s Nantes on the brink of Europa League exit

Super Eagles winger Simon Moses was in action for Nantes in their Europa League Group G encounter with Freiburg on Thursday.

Simon started the game, and it was his third appearance in the Europe second elite football tournament.

The Nigerian however made little impact in the contest as his side went down 2-0 to the German Bundesliga Side.

He was withdrawn nine minutes after the hour mark for Cameroon forward Ignatius Ganago, but the Winger is yet to contribute a goal or assist for Nantes in the competition.

It is now back-to-back defeats for Nantes in Europa league and they have managed just one win after three games.

The Antoine Kombouaré’s men have also won just once in their last five games (four losses).

They sit third on the Europa League table with just three points, from three games.

They’ll host Freiburg in the return leg fixture next week in a must win game, if they are remain in the tournament.
