Sparta Rotterdam set to tie Maduka Okoye down with a new improved contract

Sparta Rotterdam are set to open talk with Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye over a new contract, according to reports.

Okoye dropped a masterclass performances in his Eredivisie debut season and he’s one of the reasons the club finished in the top half of the table, after a bad start.

The 21-year-old kept 10 clean sheet and was rewarded with player of the season award for his outstanding performances.

Sparta Rotterdam coach Henk Fraser was quoted on Dutch tabloid Voetbalprimeur, saying Okoye will be offered a new deal to keep him away from suitors.

He also confirmed that Sparta Chiefs are ready to open talks withthe the former Fortuna Dusseldorf star over contract extension, but he  refused to rule out possible transfer to big club as well.

The experience coach concluded that Okoye is happy at the club and want to continue his development with them.
