Sporting Lagos Falls to Defeat on Abdullahi Biffo’s Debut

Abdullahi Biffo commenced his tenure as head coach of Sporting Lagos with a disappointing loss, facing his former club, Katsina United.

Biffo was hired last week to replace sacked Paul Offor following poor run of results.

The Lagos-based team however frustrating a 2-0 defeat at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina under Biffo.

Katsina United’s Andrew Idoko struck the opening goal in the 36th minute, followed by Michael Ibe’s goal in the 65th minute, securing victory and leaving Sporting Lagos in 13th place in the standings, just two points clear of the relegation zone.

In another fixture, former champions Akwa United continued to struggle in the relegation battle, suffering a defeat against Kwara United on Sunday.

A late goal from Emmanuel Ogbole sealed Akwa United’s fate, marking their 15th loss of the season and plunging them into the depths of the relegation zone.
