Stanley Eguma accuses Adamawa United players of intimidating referee

Rivers United gaffers Stanley Eguma has accused Adamawa United players of intimidating center referee on Sunday.

Eguma saw his side’s eight matches unbeaten run come to an end when they lost 2-0 to Adamawa United in Kaduna on Sunday.

The Pride of Rivers were the favorites to win the game, especially after beating Kano Pillars on matchday 26.

Speaking after the game, but Eguma said his boys did their best, and but he’s concerned about how Adamawa United players were pressuring and intimidating the center referee all through the game.

“It was a good match, we lost the match and there is nothing to talk about.”

“The officiating was not bad, but just that the players were intimidating the referee and we don’t have to complain about that, he is in charge of the game.”

“This result is a setback but we have to keep working hard, it’s not over until is over.”

“It’s unfortunate we have not lost in the last 8 games but we will take it in good faith.”

“I have to look at the next opponent and know how to take them on,” he said.

Rivers United will turn their attention to the next game against Katsina United at the Adoke Amaisimaka stadium in Port-Harcourt on matchday 28.
