Sunshine Stars suffered with the game plan against MFM FC in their top of the table clash on Matchday 10 of the NPFL, but it was even more frustrating for their top scorer, Faud Ekelojuoti.
The Akure side lost 2-0 in a game where they were indeed second best, they were on the back foot from the very opening minutes, and so could not get their talismanic scorer on the ball in the vital area.
The opposition coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu, had the perfect game plan to stifle the one player who was the biggest goal threat of the visitors and it worked.
In a chat with brila.net Faud described the game as “frustrating” because not only was he man marked and denied the ball in dangerous areas, the team’s plan to contain their host also didn’t work.
The Lagos born attacker currently has 4 goals in 8 games of the current league campaign.
