Super Eagles Goalkeeping Errors one too many – Akpan

Former Nigerian goalkeeper Bassey Akpan has stated that the goalkeeping position in the Super Eagles needs urgent attention.

The Ex Eagles comments come on the heels of the latest error of Maduka Okoye in the practice game against Algeria’s CHAN team.

Akpan, who represented Nigeria across the U-17 national team to the Senior level told www.brila.net that, ‘the error could be minimized and the latest by Okoye was avoidable.’

He stressed that the goalkeepers also need to know the enormity of representing Nigeria and be conscious of the need to be at their best at all times.

‘Although, admittedly mistakes are bound to happen occasionally, but not as frequently as has been experienced of late in the Super Eagles,’ Bassey Akpan said.
