Super Eagles players spent over one hour inside the dressing room after the game against the Black Stars of Ghana on Tuesday.

 

The players rushed down to the dressing and spent hours there, after the final whistle after the fans angrily stormed the pitch.

 

The fans also waited outside the stadium to attack the players and the coaches, but the security operatives managed to protect the team.

 

The Super Eagles failed to qualify for the FIFA 2022 World Cup after playing a 1-1 draw against the Black Stars of Ghana in the second leg of the playoff.

 

The first leg in Kumasi ended in a goalless draw and the Black Stars qualified with away goal rules.

 

The Super Eagles have now failed to qualify for the World Cup for the first time in 16 years.
