Tella And Boniface Help Bayer Leverkusen Secure Domestic Double

Nigerian duo Victor Boniface and Nathan Tella made history with Bayer Leverkusen as they clinched the domestic double for the first time.

The newly crowned German champions sealed their triumph with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Kaiserslautern in the domestic Cup final.

Despite starting on the bench, both Boniface and Tella played crucial roles in the final showdown.

Tella entered the fray in the 90th minute, replacing Jeremie Frimpong to help maintain Leverkusen’s lead until the final whistle.

Granit Xhaka’s decisive 17th-minute goal proved to be the winner, earning Leverkusen their first German Cup title since 1993.

It’s Leverkusen’s second trophy of the season, following their historic Bundesliga win.

With this victory, Leverkusen joins an elite group of clubs to achieve the double, alongside FC Bayern, 1. FC Köln, Werder Bremen, and Borussia Dortmund.
