Super Eagles of Nigeria striker Terem Moffi was the hero for FC Lorient on Friday night, as he guides them to victory against Champions Lille.
Moffi scored one and assisted another to guide Lorient to an impressive 2-1 home victory over LOSC Lille FC in the week 5 of the French Ligue 1.
Fresh from international duty with Nigeria, Moffi went back straight to Lorient starting 11 for the game and he was thorn in Lille’s defense all through the game.
The former KV Kortrijk football club star set up the first for his strike partner Armand Lauriente in the 7th minutes.
The Nigerian ran with the ball from the midfield and powered his way past four Lille defenders, before sending a killer pass to his team, who finished it off well.
Turkey star Burak Yilmaz equalized for the away team via a penalty kick in the 25th minutes to end the first half 1-1.
Lille thought they have secured a point from the game, but the Super Eagles star had other ideas in mind when he scored the winner with three minutes to go.
Terem Moffi has now scored two goals and assisted two from five game this season. He netted 16 goals for Lorient last season as well.
The victory over LOSC Lille football club has now taken FC Lorient to the 4th spot in French Ligue 1 table with 8 points from 5 matches played.
