Nigeria’s Blessing Oborodudu has booked her place in the quarter-finals of women’s wrestling event at the on-going Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Powerful Oborodudu defeated Elis Manolova of Azerbaijan, this morning to reach the last eight of the 68kg category.
The 32-year-old all African games champions defeated her opponent 13-2 to continue her quest for medal at the world’s greatest sporting event.
Oborodudu will now wrestle Meerim Zhumanazarova of Kyrgyzstan for a place in the semi-finals.
Oborodudu and teammate Odunayo Adekuoroye remains Nigeria’s brightest hope of picking a medal at the Olympic games.
