Udinese contacts Crotone for Simy Nwankwo

Italian Serie A side Udinese have shown strong interest in signing of Nigeria forward Simy Nwankwo from Crotone this summer.

Nwankwo emerged as a top target for Udinese after his club Crotone suffered relegation to the lower division.

Despite his club’s poor run in the campaign last season, Nwankwo finished third behind Ronaldo and Romelu Lukaku in the golden boot race.

The 29-year-old, however, is yet to decide his future, because the likes Fiorentina, Genoa, Fiorentina and Monza are also said to be interested.

According to Sportitalia, the Udinese have contacted his club over their interest and the possibility of striking a deal is likely.

Nwankwo linked up with the Pythagoreans from Portuguese club Gil Vicente in 2016 and has scored 64 goals in 152 league appearances.
