Clocking in at 10.23 seconds with a wind speed of -0.8, Itsekiri’s performance marked a significant upgrade from his previous bronze medal achievement at the Games five years ago in Rabat.

Meanwhile, amidst fierce competition, Itsekiri’s compatriot Ekanem secured a respectable fourth place finish with a time of 10.42 seconds.

However, it was Emmanuel Eseme of Cote d’Ivoire who claimed the title of champion, crossing the finish line in 10.14 seconds, while Gilbert Hainuca clinched bronze with a time of 10.29 seconds.

In another triumph for Nigerian sports, the national cricket team, Yellow Greens, emerged victorious in a crucial match against Namibia.

With an exhilarating finish, Nigeria secured the win by three wickets, with not a single ball remaining.
