Uzoho picks Old Trafford masterclass as the best of career

Francis Uzoho said his performance for Omonia Nicosia against Manchester United at Old Trafford is the best of his career so far.

Uzoho was only making his second appearance in the Europa League for Omonia Nicosia this season and unlucky not to complete one of the greatest goalkeeping displays Old Trafford had seen.

The Nigeria international kept Cristiano Ronaldo, Casemiro, Marcus Rashford and others at bay, before Scott McTominay found a way past him in stoppage time.

He made 11 saves in the game, and became the second goalkeeper, with the most saves in a single game of the competition, after Copenhagen goalkeeper Karl-Johan Johnsson, who made 13 saves against Man United in their Europa League clash in 2020.

“I am proud of my teammates because it was not a one man job.

“We gave everything out there as a team on the field. I am happy with my performance,” He said.
