Victor Boniface impressive in four-goal thriller at Bayern Munich

Victor Boniface was on parade for Bayer Leverkusen against reigning champions, Bayern Munich on Friday.

The highly anticipated Bundesliga game ended in a 2-2 draw at Allianz Arena with Leverkusen maintaining their
unbeaten record in the league so far this season.

Boniface, Bundesliga player of the month for August, led the line for Leverkusen and was impressive.

He had a goal disallowed for being offside, and also came close to scoring in the 52nd minute with a long-range effort that narrowly missed the target.

However the 22-year-old had two excellent opportunities to score late on, but unfortunately, he couldn’t convert them to goals.

Despite the Nigerian fluffing good chances, Leverkusen managed to secure a draw thanks to a 94th minute penalty.

Harry Kane opened the scoring for Bayern just seven minutes into the game, but Alex Grimaldo equalized for Leverkusen in the 24th minute.

Bayern took the lead again in the 86th minute through Leon Goretzka, only for Palacios’ late penalty to level the score in stoppage time.

Following the draw, Leverkusen retained their position at the top of the league table with 10 points, the same as Bayern.

Both teams have had an impressive start to the season and will be looking to maintain their unbeaten run in the coming matches.
