Bayer Leverkusen’s forward, Victor Boniface is expecting a difficult game from against Norwegian club, Molde when both sides clash in Europa League.

Boniface knows a lot about Molde, having played against them during his days with Bodo/Glint in Norwegian league.

The forward returns to Norway with Bayer Leverkusen for their Europa League matchday two encounter.

Speaking ahead of the game, the 22-year-old believes Molde would be difficult opponents for the Bundesliga side.

“Molde are one of the top teams in the Norwegian league and they compete for the title year after year,” Boniface told the club’s official website.

“Molde were the reigning champions when I joined Bodø/Glim in 2019, and in the next two years when we won the league, Molde was the main competitor as runners-up.

“We definitely can’t afford to underestimate them also because they are at home.

“The artificial pitch there could be to their advantage. For us, there will be rather unusual playing conditions.”

Victor Boniface scored a brace on his UEFA Europa League debut for Leverkusen last month.

He scored six times for Union Saint-Gilloise last season, before joining Bayer Leverkusen in a €25m deal.
