The Golden Eaglets were forced to a scoreless draw against Burkina Faso in the opening match of the WAFU B U-17 Championship, on Thursday.

Despite the lack of goals, Coach Manu Garba expressed pride in his team’s performance and optimism for future matches.

Looking ahead, the team will next face Niger Republic on Sunday evening.

The gaffer says, they aim to secure three points, which would significantly boost their chances of advancing to the semi finals.

“We are proud of our team’s performance. Although we didn’t secure the win that we hoped for, our players showed great teamwork and sportsmanship.

“We look forward to our next match and the opportunity to continue growing and improving. The boys will get better with experience and exposure.”

Nigeria is the defending Champions of the tournament.
