Striker Sadiq Umar says the Super Eagles won’t underestimate Sao Tome and Principe when both sides clash on Monday.
Sao Tome and Principe will host the Eagles in Morroco for their second 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifying game.
The hosts lost their first match 1-5 to Guinea Bissau, while the Super Eagles kicked start their campaign with hard fought 2-1 success over Leone Stars of Sierra Leone in Abuja.
“We are confident, but won’t underestimate them. Football respects no one, it’s all about who wants it most, so we are going there to fight for result, like against anyone else.”
“They (Sao Tome) lost their last game and would be out for to prove a point, but we want to get a result.” Umar said.
The Super Eagles are second on the log, trailing Guinea Bissau on goals difference while Sao Tome and Principe are languishing at the bottom of the table.
