William Troost-Ekong says he’s gutted after being ruled out of the friendly game against Algeria.
Ekong pulled out from the squad as a result of injury and has since returned to his base in England for further assessment.
The CB was involved in Friday’s test game against Algeria’s B Team which ended 2-2.
“Unfortunately picked up something in our game yesterday. Back home now to sort it out. All the best to the boys on Tuesday,” The Watford defender tweeted.
Ekong’s absence is a huge blow to Super Eagles gaffer Jose Peseiro who has already lost Wilfred Ndidi last week.
The midfielder also pulled out of the squad after picking hamstring injury in the training camp.
Nigeria will lock horns with Algeria at the Miloud Hadefi Stadium in Oran on Tuesday.
