FC Porto faces a challenge as they head into Tuesday’s Champions League clash against Royal Antwerp, missing three key players, including Nigerian international Zaidu Sanusi.
This setback, as reported by Het Nieuwsblad, is a cause for concern for coach Sergio Conceciao. Injuries have sidelined Iván Marcano (defender), Zaidu Sanusi (left back), and Gabriel Veron (forward) for an extended period, leaving Porto with limited defensive options.
Although there were initial concerns about the fitness of 40-year-old veteran Pepe, he is expected to be available.
In addition, left back Wendell and midfielders Eustáquio and Iván Jaime were absent during the cup match against Vilar de Perdizes and didn’t participate in the lead-up to the Champions League encounter.
Zaidu Sanusi’s absence extended to the international window in October, where he missed out on national team duties.
