Nnadozie picks WOTM award despite defeat to Morocco

Nigeria’s goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie was named the Woman of the Match in the semi-final of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations against Morocco.

Nnadozie pulled off some stunning saves against Morocco at the Stade Prince Moulay Abdallah on Monday.

The Super Falcons played 50 minutes of football with nine women, but the team fought hard to remain in the game with some saves by the the Nigerian Goalkeeper.

Falcons took the lead in the second-half when Rasheedat Ajibade forced Yasmin Katie Mrabet to put the ball into her own net.

Morocco drew level eight minutes later when FAR Rabat star Mssoudy Sanaa took advantage of a defensive lapse after goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie failed to deal with a cross from Fatima Tagnaout.

The goal brought an end to Nnadozie’s run of a total 340 minutes in the competition without conceding a goal.

Meanwhile, She is in the race for goalkeeper of the tournament award following her run of three clean sheets in four games.
