Nothing to Learn from Senegal! Nigeria only needs structure – Obafemi

Former Super Eagles Defender Abiodun Obafemi has revealed that Nigeria has noting to learn from Senegal despite their all round success on the continent.

Obafemi believes that Nigeria is at higher level, among the best footballing Nations in Africa and only requires good administration to become dominant again.

Senegal are enjoying a unprecedented levels of success at the moment, having won the Africa Nations Cup, recently won the African Nations Championship and are defending champions of the African Beach Soccer.

“Honestly we are not under pressure, our status still remains,” Abiodun Obafemi insists. “Even when we are not doing well; unable to build a solid National team, yet nobody will argue against our quality.

“The stats are there for all to see, we are talking about a country that is blessed with quality players. Nigeria is number one in Africa, so we have no reason to fear anybody.”

“Look at our players’ exploits in Europe; their present form in Europe. Honestly all we just need to do is get it right.

“Of course, I envy Senegal. They have a very good structure, the good work their FA put in these last four years is what they are reaping now, and honestly we are not far from there, we just need to get it right.”
